1. In wood finishing, UV LED curing machine has obvious advantages over traditional UV lamps: such as small footprint, monitoring, maintenance and downtime, which can be translated into higher production volume and efficiency, reducing Scrap, high-quality finished products at a lower cost.


2. The use of conventional UV lamps to cure coatings on heat-sensitive materials, such as plywood and resinous woods (such as pine), can cause damage to the substrate, resulting in increased scrap rates. UV LEDs generate significantly less heat, making it possible to cure heat-sensitive wood substrates.


3. Compared with traditional lamps, the surface temperature of fir boards can be significantly reduced when cured with UV LEDs. Compared with traditional mercury lamps, the UV LED curing machine can make the surface temperature of the pine board 8 degrees Celsius cooler, while the surface temperature of the conveyor belt is 30 degrees Celsius cooler.

4. Due to the narrow wavelength output of current UV LEDs in the UVA range, the formulation of chemicals is still challenging. Previous related studies have shown that radiation peaking, as well as total UVA energy output, is much more important than precise wavelength matching. Because a high radiation peak means more intense aggregation, this helps to inhibit oxygen aggregation on the surface.


5. On thin topcoats, gloss control is not an issue; however, on thicker pigment coats generally, temperature shock from conventional UV or IR lamps can cause a reduction in gloss.
